She fed my aunt on a four-hour schedule. Three months after my aunt was born, my mother was conceived. Same thing happened with my two uncles - who were born a year and two years later than my mother. Then my grandparents 'must have done something,' as my mother said, and did not have any more children.

When I had my daughter 10 years ago, my mother was a bit concerned that I was feeding her every time she cried. "We don't want her to become a food-obsessed fatty,' my mother warned me. However, we asked the pediatrician about this, and she said that babies should be fed on demand. Among other things, it makes them feel more secure.

It must be said that feeding on a schedule was the norm even after my mother's time (she's almost 80; I'm 47). So I find it a bit strange that Gary Ezzo is promoting his scheduled feeding as his own idea. Scheduled feeding has been around for some time, and what has been discovered about it is that 1.) it can lead to milk supply problems, and 2.) it can cause a woman's fertility to return early. For myself, I did use birth control after a month or so after giving birth, but my period didn't return until my daughter was eight months old, at which point I had been giving her solid foods for about two months. I might not have gotten pregnant for the first six months even if I hadn't used contraception.

So is it God's way... or Gary Ezzo's way?
emilializhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15448416605125811053noreply@blogger.com
