What is wrong with this picture? Nothing!

There is more 'skin' shown on prime time television which is overtly sexual in nature than is seen here AND this photo is of a mother giving nutrients and life to her children. We really have our priorities way of whack!!

One way to think about this....
what about preperators? What about mothers' protection from that? Have any of you heard of a young boy, who is deaf, impulsively put down all of his personal information on the social internet (MySpace), and there was an older man who went to his home to pick him up... for sex. Luckily, police was there to arrest him.

Really, who wants to see that???

Shocking! Please remove this from your blog immediately... :)

Great photo! I am sorry they don't share the love for what you are doing here. I have certainly seen more explicitly exposed shots of women on those websites.

It's a beautiful picture. Facebook sucks!

I love that shot. My boys used to nurse like that too. It was a cozy time.

How is that offensive???

You can't even see any booby!

Facebook are ridiculous.

I agree with Veronica.

Although the first thing that struck me, a teen, was this - how does she manage to hold both the boys at the same time? Sorry, but.. well.. was overwhelmed. Kudos to you.

Breastfeeding is a natural thing.

I just felt funny that there are more moms breastfeeding their child in public in China than in the USA. You often see mom breastfeeding in the hospital, gov office, police station, on the bus, on the train and even in the shopping mall. They don't even have cover on it. You can see their nipples.

Many western people complaint about the human rights in China and do not allow the breastfeeding picture (without showing the nipple) post on the internet?

Where is the standard?

I am so glad you posted this to your blog, because looking at this photo absolutely proves to me that Facebook had no case for deleting it. I have seen morning news anchors flashing more cleavage than you are in that photo. Sheesh.

I just found your website through reading about some of the Facebook fracass, and oh my gosh. It breaks my heart that something so important, which you've captured so beautifully forever on film, can be anything but celebrated.

I'm so sorry you've had to go through this, but I'm thrilled at the fight now being fought. Facebook sucks. Nurse on!!

I love this picture, and Facebook needs to grow up. Oh that's right. A 12-year old runs it. Never mind. Thanks for fighting the fight!

A couple of months ago my 2 very modest breast feeding pictures were taken down from Facebook. I received an e-mail from them stating it was considered obscene material. I was warned not to reupload the photos or my account would be shut down. I was furious but had no outlet, so I just dealt with it. Today I come home to an e-mail from betterphoto.com, where I have been an active for several years. They too have removed the photos. The reason they give: “the photos are not family friendly”. I am so frustrated and angry! I don’t understand how people can view breastfeeding as obscene…. I need a larger outlet to voice this issue and I just don’t know where or what that is. All I know is that I am sick and tired of being told to put “them” away. I wonder why I wasted all this time, effort and painstaking frustration to be able to breast feed. I could have taken the easy way out but I worked my butt off to be able to breast feed. Myjourney started with weekly appts with a lactation consultant, drinking teas and other concoctions and taking medication to increase my milk. Not to mention the hours of painful pumping in order to boost my milk supply. All this and what for? To be constantly made to feel like it’s shameful and dirty…To be looked at with disdain and horror when I discretely feed my child in hidden away corners and bathrooms? Would these people want to eat THEIR meal in a bathroom? What do we need to do to get back to basics. You know, the days when formula was suplemented to help out in desperate situation where NOTHING worked/breastfeeding was imposible and children were going to starve without it? Too many people have taken the easy/lazy way out over the years and those of us still trying to do what doctors say is best, are suffering.

I AM SO SICK OF IT!!!!!

The problem I have is that I have this huge opinion and a loud voice, but no clue what to do with it.

here is my photo:

Is it really that horrible?

Thanks for reading!
