BINGO! And I could add "My baby weaned HIMSELF at 5 months, so that's probably what yours is doing." This is what I was told by at least two people when I'd try to breastfeed DD and she'd cry, for reasons probably unrelated. (Now she is a year old and a happy little breastfeeder.) I am really feeling you on the sling issue.
For some people I think its more than just breastfeeding bingo! I saw a documentary the other week, and there were kids as old as 7 still breastfeeding! Now that to me is just plain wrong.
And tell me seven years is just "plain wrong". You know... I've another bingo somewhere in my thought processes including such comments as "after X years it's more about the mother than the child" and "I'm all for extended breastfeeding BUT"
But I haven't got the "just plain wrong" one on there. So perhaps I'd better add that to the next one?
Why do you think they're called MILK teeth by the way?
As a counterpoint to the negativity in this bingo, how about making one up that has pleasant and supportive comments? I'd much rather remind myself and other mums of the good times than the bad times. If I was a new mum considering breastfeeding and came across this, don't you think it would be a little off putting to say the least? More positive thoughts please!
